Manchester - The Chill Factore

Personally I have never been into this facility, but thoroughly recommend to any beginner to start here, this is worth every penny you pay. Look for discount lift passes and other offers.

One trip here will reduce the time you need in beginners classes at resort, which are usually involve loads of standing around in lines waiting for everybody to do each step.

By learning in the UK you have the potential to free ski right from the moment you hit the slopes, although you will need to progress through the colour rankings of the slopes rather than start on the blacks

My opinion is just go and do it

Dry slopes are an alternative, again I have never been on these artificial slopes. But if it helps to get you started then go for it.

You may pick up a few bruises on this type of slope on your first outing, but it still worth it.

Resort Ski School

These are all in the main very good and we never stop needing a lesson or two to tweak our style and performance.

Guiding

This is an excellent way to get a bit of tuition. Generally the guide will watch you ski as an individual or a group, stopping from time to time and giving tips to make your experience better

Ski Safari

Generally takes in several resorts with lots of off piste and cross country skiing, mainly for expert or experienced persons only. Something to aim for.

Never tried this, but its on my bucket list.

I want to do a two week safari for charity, splitting the money raised across the emergency services of the resorts/regions that we ski through.

No idea where to start to organise this, even though the web has some ready made packages.
